How to Launch Apps with Siri in iPhone

iOS 6 brought a lot of improvements to Siri – not only can everyone’s favorite personal assistant now search for local businesses outside of the US, it can also provide sports scores and detailed information on movies and cinema listings (more on this later). In line with iOS 6’s Facebook integration, Siri can also send a tweet and post Facebook status updates online, but perhaps the most useful feature of them all is its new ability to launch your applications. ..

To do this, simply enable Siri (by holding down your Home button) then ask it to either ‘Launch [app name]’ or ‘Open [app name]’. It may take a few seconds for Apple’s servers to chew through your speech and work out what you’re saying, but once Siri has worked out what you’re asking, your app of choice will open in an instant.

Let's See Feature.....

Set any song as your alarm

Waking up to the sound of Apple’s classic Marimba tune isn’t exactly the best way to start your day, but waking up to your own music most definitely is. iOS 5 might have allowed you to set your own songs as your Alarm tone, but iOS 6 makes it much easier.

Siri reviews the movies:
As if giving you all the IMDb info and local cinema times for any film you ask about wasn’t enough, Siri has now been programmed to include some rather humorous synopses of films. When we say selected, we mean those including robots (or intelligent assistants, as Siri calls them). To find out its views, all you need to do is ask Siri about The Matrix, Inception...
Navigate from the lock screen

If there’s one thing that Apple’s iOS 6 Maps app does well, it’s turn-by-turn navigation. The visuals are detailed for even the quickest glance to give you a clue as to which direction you should be heading, and the audible announcements are a real plus, too. What’s more, all of this is available in your iPhone’s lock screen. Directions even show up as notifications while you’re, ahem, navigating other apps...
Improve Apple’s Maps app

Apple’s own Maps app might have earned itself a bit of a bad name since it was introduced, but fixing one of its biggest issues, a lack of local business listings, is easier than you might think. The lack of businesses in Maps isn’t down to bad data; it’s actually due to font sizes. To rectify this, head into the Maps section of the Settings app and check the Small Label Size.
Control your iPhone’s vibrate mode

Having your phone vibrate in your pocket is very useful, but when your phone isn’t on silent, it’s a little redundant. Fortunately, iOS 6 allows you to toggle vibration mode for both Silent and Ring modes. You’ll find the option in Settings>Sounds.
Save your lost phone

It’s by no means a silver bullet, but if you’you've ever worried about the whereabouts of your phone, whether it’s been mislaid in a cafĂ© or, at worst, stolen, then Apple’s Find My iPhone has always gone some way to help you. Simply download the app, follow the sign up and you’re ready.
